Detroit was clearly the better team tonight. Hopefully Game 6 is closer, I'd much rather watch a game that's within 1 goal most of the time.

Everybody that bet on the Wings - you're welcome - I just realized I had the odds backwards on that.

Pretty good deal for a team that was 10-1 at home in the playoffs.

After watching the game last night in entirity on the DVR this morning, I have to say this is one of the most complete games the Wings have played all year long.

The PK was strong for once, the PP looked great (i'm not counting the last couple, the Wings had clearly taken their foot of the gas) and, above all, the Wings started winning the battles in the corners and in front of the net on both ends of the ice.

When the Wings do that, they are very nearly unbeatable. I was going to mention how Crosby's slash and Malkin's elbow were childish and unwarranted, but then Hossa did essentially the same stupid thing when he skated over Garon.

either way, good game by the Wings. Now with two days off we'll see if the Wings can give Pittsburgh their first home loss this year.
