I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree. He hasn't fallen flat on his face. He's done pretty damn well in the playoffs two years in a row. He has 61 points in 25 playoffs games. He played well in the finals last year. Again, just because he's not getting points doesn't mean he's not helping the team. He plays good defense, creates opportunities, controls the puck, and controls when the Wings' best forward plays. Zetterberg's goal right now is to stop Crosby. The Pens need the other lines to step up more. Any intelligent Penguins fan would've told you that before the series, and I'm sure you knew that. Crosby's usual point contributions would obviously be awesome, honestly, I didn't expect him to have a big series. I expected Malkin to have a big series, and really think the team needs the Staal line to contribute more offensively if they want to have a shot.
If history repeats itself, which it tends to do, he will get his points. "Falling flat" is far too harsh if you've watched the games. Kunitz and Guerin have both missed some pretty nice passes/hit the post. Crosby does need to capitalize on his opportunities better. That I'm not arguing. But falling flat on his face? Far from it. He's still quite obviously the most talented player on the ice most of the time.
