Windows media player audio trouble

Is it only when playing cd through media player? Or does it happen when you try to play absolutely anything through it?

Might be trying to play through digital outs or something to that effect.

When we've tried to play downloaded music through it there's no sound. I don't know if he's tried to play video or not, but I'd venture to say that the same thing happens.

Ok do you have winamp, or any other media player type program that DOES work?

I would guess that you need to go into the wmp settings and make sure digital audio is not enabled. I cant tell you exactly where it is, because it differs in each version.
