Will Tressell consult with Stoops?

Honestly this is one thing I love about JT over Coop. I was always terrified when another coach had extra time to prepare fro us, but it seems (do not have time to back up with facts yet) that when JT has a couple of weeks to prepare he always delivers with a victory!! Having JT prepare this game for this long is a huge advantage in my opinion. I am sure Texas can spin it that way with their coaching staff as well.

What gives me confidence going into this game is OSU's ability to win the big games, and Texas' ability to lose them. Take away Michigan (The same Michigan that OSU throttled), and name any time that Texas has beaten a team that they shouldn't have over the past few years.

I have gone back back to 2001 and posted their results. Their rankings are in parenthesis going into the game each time. I have highlighted the times that they actually beat a team that was ranked higher than them. This may not be significant to some, but it basically shows me all that I need to know. They can win games that they should win, but they come up short when it's all on the line........much like the Cooper days at OSU....... :wink2:

Good work, daddy.

It pretty much confirmed my view of Mack Brown's history as well. His struggles with his biggest rival are well documented, and his Rose Bowl win can't change all that history. After all, Coop won a Rose Bowl, too.*

*Not counting his one while at ASU; just talking about his OSU career in this discussion.

Texas has some studs, but I like having the game in the Shoe. I'll worry about next year's trip to Austin next year. :wink2:

Not to be a jagoff, but I think that coaches are always pulling for their conference rivals when they play out of conference foes. Just makes sense that we don't want our Big 10 brethren showing poorly when they play littles sisters of the poor or other BCS conferences.

Last year I thought Northwestern was a lot better than their record indicated. Their loss against TCU in the season opener showed horrible safety play but the safeties learned how to defend a double seem by the time they played the Buckeyes and their FG kicker actually learned how to make one, too. Their QB has spirit. And sorry for the inadvertant ramble.
