Will Muschamp (Former HC South Carolina Gamecocks)

Lol

I'm not saying Florida's next head coach has a group of world beaters on his hands, but he has a much better foundation to work with than Muschamp did when he took over for Urban Meyer in 2011.

Muschamp also left that locker room in a more stable condition, too, after walking into an absolute mess when he arrived in 2011. Even Meyer relented he left him a broken program. So it took awhile for Muschamp to gain power in that locker room, but looking at the state of what's happening away from the field, he did a heck of a job bringing order, even if the wins didn't come.

To be fair, they have a point.
Nobody in that locker room will be sad to see Muschamp leave... if anything, they will be united and have a feeling of getting a new start.
Whereas a lot of potential recruits and kids already on scholarship were dismayed when Urban left.

It's the difference between ousting a tyrant from your midst and a great leader suddenly and mysteriously abandoning you.
In the first there's hope for the future and a community united behind their shared dislike of oppression and newfound joy in seeming freedom.
In the second there's a feeling of inadequacy, failure, uncertainty over the future.

What Urban did to Florida was glorious.
In a ten year period, the most recent 2 Ohio State coaches managed to utterly obliterate 2 Florida dynasties. I just hope we can see the 3rd sink now.

I don't really keep up with the coaching carousel so this could be loltarded but I'd imagine both Fickell and Ash will get serious looks at HC spots this offseason. Muschamp to tOSU?

Loltarded. You answered your own question.

Brando was suggesting on his show that Muschamp be the DC at South Carolina and be named head coach in waiting. His guest also suggested that was Loltarded.

This whole "head coach in-waiting" thing is loltarded. Always has been, and only seems to be applied to Muschamp since his days at Texas. No significant CFB program would handcuff themselves in that way.

Look for Will to D-Coordinate at Texas A&M next year.
Jimbo fisher was head coach in waiting under Bowden. I believe Bert was under Barry Alverez as well.

Seems to me that when a school names a head-coach-in-waiting, what they really mean is that they wish the guy currently coaching would take the hint and step down because they're too chicken-[Mark May] to fire him on their own.

Jimbo fisher was head coach in waiting under Bowden. I believe Bert was under Barry Alverez as well.

Sandusky, who thought he was the head coach in waiting at penn State, waited 30 years (1969 - 1999) for Paterno to retire. Needles to say, it didn't work out as well for him as it did for Jimbo or Bert; however, in the end Sandusky was instrumental in getting Paterno to finally "retire".
