Thing is, I agree with that. I hated Pete Rose, but thought he was unfairly criticized for running over Fosse. He was just playing the game all out. That's hustle.
To me that's totally different than a pitcher throwing at the next batter, when some guy "takes too long" - in the eyes of someone - watching a home run. That's not hustle, that's a kid in a sandbox throwing a tantrum. Especially in the American League, where the pitcher doing the beaning never has to step in the box himself. The other thing here is it is an international event. What is acceptable or unacceptable in MLB may be exactly the opposite elsewhere.
Everyone has their point of view on this subject (like fighting in hockey). There's no right answer...but I still think you're wrong.
