Who wins the World Baseball Classic?

USA-Venezuela getting started on ESPN. Lots of Major Leaguers from the small South American country. This should be good.

Venezuela breaks the ice, 1-0 after three.

Their whole damn starting lineup consists of major leaguers, good ones, and they have Francisco Rodriguez in the bullpen. I'm not sure they aren't the favorite tonight.

Who knew so many Venezuelans were in Toronto? Sounds like a home game for them.

Venezuela takes a 3-2 lead as Oswalt gets chased in the 4th.

Check that, as their middle relief pitching is pretty pedestrian. Therein lies their weakness.

We have an office pool at work. 8 guys, each got 2 random teams. I got fucking South Africa and Canada.

One dude got Chinese Taipei and Italy....hahah

You may be thinking about this all wrong. Perhaps you need to find fellow fans to console you when your teams lose...link

If you have mlb channel.... Netherlands putting on a legendary performance at Puerto Rico. Their pitcher in the 7th was a 19 year old going into his first year in the Reds system.... Nasty, got out of a 1 out bases loaded against all stars like Carlos Beltran

Why does the Netherlands have their countries name spelled as Nederlands?

I'm guessing the seamstress was told the name from somebody who grew up in Chicago or NYC.

It coulda been dis, dat or de udder ting.

De udder ting being that it's how they spell it in their own language.

Lke Norge for Norway, Sverige for Sweden, or Suisse for Switzerland.

Australia, Netherlands, and Italy have all won a game, already. Baseball as a global sport takes another step.

The Italian win eliminated Canada - with Russell Martin, Jason Bay, Matt Stairs, Joey Votto, Justin Morneau and Mark Teahen - in Toronto.

Australia pounded Mexico in Mexico City, and the Dutch stunned the Dominican Republic. I think the DR gets another crack at them in an elimination game, though. That could get ugly. Felipe Alou was pissed.
