Florida would still be good without Tebow.
Oregon sucks without Dixon.
Arkansas still sucks with McFadden.

Give it to Dennis Dixon.
Just saw this line. How many UF games have you watched this year?

Florida's young D is a big liability. Points scored against: Troy 30, Ole Miss 24, LSU 28, Kentucky 37 , Georgia 42, SCar 31.

Without Tebow, they lose to Ole Miss, Kentucky & Scar... (6-6 overall) and get blown out by UGA.

As much as I don't want Tebow to get it (mostly because I don't want him to win two and match Archie), I can't justify giving it to McFadden. Tebow has more rushing TD's in the same conference, plus he's the second rated passer in the country.

McFadden had a few games that weren't Heisman worthy, and Felix Jones had over 1,000 yards and averaged over 9 yards/carry in the same backfield. Jones was the Rivals 1st-team All American kick returner, so how somebdy can place him on a list of "untalented" teammates along with Casey Dick is completely baffling to me.

The only way that Tebow doesn't get the award is if Chase Daniel (Note to ESPN: there's no 's' at the end of his name) throws for over 300 yards with 4 TDs and beats Oklahoma. And that's something I really don't want to occur. So I'm hoping that Daniel throws 3 picks, loses to the Sooners, and Beanie Wells makes it impossible for Tebow to repeat next year.

How can a poll of Heisman candidates be complete without Jimmy Clausen?
It was a terrible shame that Ron Powlus got screwed out of not one, not two, not three, but four Heisman's. To see the same thing happen to Clausen, given ND's late season surge against perenial powers Duke and Stanford would be a travesty of mythic proportions (think CWs waist size for perspective)

Seriously, I don't like him or his team but Tebow has put up some awesome numbers.

I just shudder to think what Mallet could have done at UF this year.

I had not considered the Archie aspect. That makes a hell of a lot of sense to me now. You have to want your own guys to hold on to those kind of records. In light of that, those of you who would give it to Tim are way righteous in your props to him.

Bottom line, it is a great time to be a Buckeye or a Gator. You are upholding your great traditions with modern performance, and we are forging some spectacular new ones. :oh:

But I'm not doing that chomp thing with you

:io: Gator, I admit to being shallow in my dislike of UF (think National Champoinships:() My wife lived in Florida for a bit and had freinds who attended UF, so I cannot be too outward in my feelings, but I also want Archie to hold on to the two Heisman record. Still with injuries the way they are who knows how Tebow will do next year, I think he probably deserves it this year as all of the so called favorites have been at the very least disapointing in some games.

BB73, my wife does the chomp every once in a while, and I hate to admit it I've done it in the past (against FSU) oh I feel so dirty

I don't want Tebow to win, either.

I just don't see any way around it.

Had Oregon won all their games before he got hurt, I think there might have been some merit there....

This would have been a good year for a Woodson/Bailey/Gamble type player to make some noise.

As for Tebow winning 2... we saw what happened to Jason White the expectation for him is going be undefeated season with the same kind of stats-- and hope no one else does it too... if not... there will be backlash... and its gonna be a "best player on the best team" award again, reagardless, so that better be Florida.

I voted for Pat White, but I'm with you, now. I voted for him because he and West Virginia could score from anywhere on the field. At least, that's the way it seemed in the few games I'd seen before tonight. But the more I think about it, I realize that it needs to be Tebow. 20+ rushing touchdowns by anyone is awesome. 20+ passing touchdowns is decent. But he's done BOTH. I don't know that those numbers can be rivaled by anyone I've ever seen play.

And after Leinhart won one, and he returned for another year, I heard that some voters had the mindset of "he won his Heisman - I'm going to vote for someone else." Of course, that "someone else" was Reggie Bush, and he definitely deserved it over Leinhart. (Or is it Leinart? Crap.) The point is that there is the mentality in some of the voters to not want to see someone win a second Heisman.

But I think that if he (Tebow) wins it this year, and he has a similar season next year, he deserves a second Heisman.
