Who is your least favorite Buckeye of all time (not counting MoC)?

vr....heres a list of posters to this site who have said that they have first-hand knowledge that players and players parents do indeed read these boards.....

oh8ch

and i believe hh

however; if you want to take a stab in the dark and say that they dont read these forums thats good enough for me.....[sarcasm]

that is the reason i dont like these "most hated"...."least liked" threads....these are kids who are doing their best....

Most players don't care to use the internet for anything other than IMing girls, and those that do aren't usually on long enough to browse around fan sites doing searches for their names. Every athlete on the planet who's good enough to garner attention from fans and media knows that they are going to have some detractors. In my experience, they appear not to give a shit, and are far more concerned with what their coaches and fellow players think about them. Anyone who thinks Nate Clements and Tyson Walter are lurking in the shadows shedding silent tears over these comments needs a pretty severe reality check.

Di - nothing I said there argues against the fact some players, now and then, do visit this and other fan sites. The point there is that in the very unlikely chance that a player does happen to visit this specific site and go to this specific thread, he's not going to lose a great deal of sleep over what he reads. These are the opinions of fans - not coaches, not other players, not anyone that matters. [no sarcasm]

I don't have a preference for Doss over Clements other than that Doss stayed for his senior year. I have no reason whatsoever to dislike Nate Clements. I find the fact that this question is asked as if no reasonable person could be a bigger Clements fan than Doss fan particularly amusing.

Just playing the odds. Simple fact: A few brought up Nate, nobody brought up Doss. I'm sure some people are bigger Clements fans. The crucial point is that there's nothing wrong with liking one over the other.

Of course, if Clements was embittered by fans' attacks on him, and said he didn't care about Ohio State, then he would really get it. I could not blame him.

I couldn't either. But then, I know I can't censor other fans, no matter how foolish some of the shit they say is. It's unfortunate when players receive that 'unwarranted criticism' I spoke of, and when it happens, like I said, people should come to their defense. I would simply present my opinion of Clements, and engage in a constructive discussion.

And the fact is that this thread was started by someone who 95% of the time says only negative things cannot be ignored. This is an "Ohio State fan" saying we deserved to lose to Minnesota as if it was some kind of divine judgement or something. Do you see why some people might find this charachter and his topic insulting? Probably not. Let's roast Bellisari some more, shall we?

I definitely see why some people find Tibor insulting, but I think he deserves the opportunity to defend his position. If he has no real position, and is just jawing in order to get a rise out of certain other members of the forum, then I'd say he's batting 1.000 - everything the guy says seems to get shit on outright...I guess I'm not sure why he's not on all of your ignore lists.

"The crucial point is that there's nothing wrong with liking one over the other."

There is a difference between liking someone more and disliking them. This topic is based on dislike. It is based on calling Nate Clements names. It has nothing to do with liking Mike Doss.

Not sure where you got that idea - really. I've definitely said some outlandish shit, but I've never been unwilling to elaborate on my positions and listen to those of others.

Yes you have, and I haven't really argued against it. In fact, the very first thing I said here was this:

*shrug* I'm not ashamed to say that there have been a couple former Buckeyes who I wish hadn't been. Zach Williams, for instance. Just because a guy wears scarlet and gray doesn't mean he can do no wrong.

I don't dream about flaying these guys alive. Some players just happen to be more popular than others to certain people. The other thing I said was this:

The thread definitely isn't positive or constructive per se, but isn't it more or less harmless? Nobody's crucifying these guys - they're just pointing out that there are players that are lower on the 'popularity scale' than others.

Then somebody else said this:

the question was who is your least favorite. not who is your most hated. so it's really not THAT negative of a thread.

I dunno. I respect the fact that you choose not to think of any players as being less popular than others - perhaps the players that are reading this right now will thank you for it. I'm just being honest when I say that I like some players more than others. I'm just a stupid fan, with stupid whims. It's pretty much a non-issue to me. If you insist that it makes me a 'bad fan', then go right ahead and take the wooden spoon to my backside. I just don't think a thread like this - while definitely not positive in nature - is anything to really be upset or offended about.

No player deserves to be ridiculed for his play on the field. But they do deserve if they act like assholes on the field or off. Clements more than qualifies. It really was great to see him get utterly humiliated by Johnson.

What, are you the voice of Tibor or something? I don't care what you think about this thread, all I have to do is read the crap this "fan" is posting.

yeah, my hyponotic powers that I am sending via the keyboard are forcing you to read this thread. :roll1:

The great thing about this thread is that it refreshes my memory of other Buckeye dickheads. I had forgotten about Big Fatty...I think he once punched his pregnant girlfriend. I guess maybe he thought she was hiding food there or something. True class act.

You are right that I am not forced to read this thread, but I am choosing to comment on it to refute the crap that you post. What you're comment has to do with my post must only be apparent to enlightened "doctors".

vr...part of my stance on this goes back to a great discussion i had with another poster on a different issue....maybe oh8ch??....anyways..it was someone whom i respect....

the point was that it is a slippery slope from "least favorite" and future "most hated"..then to..."krenzel caused carters knee injury"....

id rather nip it now....because tibor (and others) will always try to up the ante on their negativity....
