You might want to get lodging just as you cross the border (which is Lynch Rd) into Illinios on I-74. There are a number of motels there inlcuding one that has Off The Track Betting. You will be around 30 minutes from the game site. I do believe that the motel that has the Off The Track Betting has a number of Buckeye Fans that stay there.

I'll be there. I go to the Illinois game every year with a group of friends, some Illinois fans and some OSU fans. It is always the highlight of the year for me. It is great to get out of town for a long weekend and have fun with some good frineds. We have our hotels reserved but I am not sure where. Our Illinois brethren made the arrangements for us.

In 2002 we stayed at the Chancellor which apparently has been torn down.

If Champaign hotels are full you can also try Rantoul. From I-74 it is about 15 minutes. I think that if you have to stay in Rantoul you should be able to leave your hotel room and be in a tailgate lot in 25 minutes to 30 minutes. Pretty easy drive also from Rantoul, once you get on Highway 45 you will have to make only one turn to get to the stadium and lots. Ummm, Go Illini.

Thanks for the info. I was able to find about 20 different hotels in Champaign that are all within a mile or so of the stadium. I have called a few and they are all sold out thus far. I used Google Earth and located plenty of bars around the stadium / market street area. I have a group of about 12 people coming out with me and we are sitting in AA lower level (right next to the buck's locker room). Does anyone know if Champaign honors the 4 AM bar closing law like Chicago?

BuckeyeBiz,

If you are a college student or in that age group then walk to Green Street for the bar action. If you have played that game and now want a more "civilized" bar then head downtown Champaign. That area used to be a pit but the city has cleaned it up drastically and it is the place to go. Many upscale areas to drink and eat without feeling out of place.
