I'm going to assume you mean fan by someone who knows a decent about about a team. I'll generalize and say that a fan can name 5 players on a football team. Now, Ohio State has the edge by far.

I do not know of actual fan base numbers or anything like that. But, I do know one thing. Ohio State kicked Notre Dame's ass about 5 months ago, and that is all that matters. :osu:

I'd say that tOSU has a slight edge on Notre Dame, although I have no evidence to back up my theory. I think that ND has lost a great deal of fans over the years (or at least they haven't attracted as many), and Ohio State has only continued to improve with Tressel, and they have plenty of great talents in the NFL. So, I'd say Ohio State has a slight edge...
