White Sox 2006 season thread

so, its coming down to the wire. as of now we are 3 back of detroit and 1.5 back of the twins. imo i think we have a better chance of clipping detroit for the wild card and minnesota taking the division than we do of overtaking minne and having detroit win the division. its a pipe dream to think we can overtake both, unless our pitching staff goes unconcious for the last few weeks. what do you think?

If the WhiteSox do not sweep the fucking tigers they are done. Game over, season over thanks for sucking it up all of the second half. This team is the most complete fucking team in the big leaugues and they are not playing as a team. STOP BLOWING FUCKING LEADS!!!!!!!!!

Thank god the Bears and Buckeyes are kicking ass.

don't fuck with Juan Uribe

Dominican police issue warrant for Uribe

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) - Dominican authorities were seeking Juan Uribe after issuing an arrest warrant Monday for the Chicago White Sox shortstop in connection with the shooting of two men.
Uribe and a bodyguard are suspected of shooting and wounding a Dominican farmer and a captain in the Italian Navy with a pistol and a shotgun when the pair walked too close to Uribe's jeep around midnight Friday, authorities said. The navy captain, Dondolin Alessandro, was treated for wounds to his stomach and hands. The farmer, Antonio Gonzalez Perez, had an elbow injury.
The Dominican athlete's brother Elpidio and an unnamed bodyguard of Uribe's were arrested Sunday, San Cristobal province District Attorney Robert Lugo said.
Uribe's agent, Martin Arburua, told the Chicago Sun-Times on Sunday that he had spoken to his client, who denied involvement in the shooting. Uribe told Arburua he had spoken to police, but Lugo said the shortstop had not contacted authorities, who were trying to locate him.
"There is an order for Uribe's arrest and the prosecutor's office is investigating the case," Lugo told The Associated Press.
The shooting took place in Juan Baron, a coastal city about 65 kilometers (40 miles) southwest of Santo Domingo, according to a police report.
Two weeks ago, White Sox general manager Ken Williams endorsed the 27-year-old Uribe as his shortstop for the 2007 season despite his disappointing 2006 season. He was expected to report Tuesday to his Dominican winter league team in the capital, the Escogido Lions.
Uribe is scheduled to earn $4.15 million next season in the major leagues, with the White Sox holding a $5 million option or $300,000 buyout for 2008.

A lot of speculation but the majority seem to agree Scotty Pods has played his last game with the WhiteSox. There is also some talk about making a run for Ichiro. This seems highly unlikely considering what the asking price would be, the Sox would have to give up a lot of young pitching. I do think Pierre would make a great option as a LF, his defense is way to suspect to play CF. I am unsure about him hitting leadoff, his OBP has dipped the last three years. He can not take a pitch. He would make a great 8 or 9 hole hitter though.

Soriano I think would cost way to much money as the Sox still need to pick up a SS. Arod? I would love to see him in our lineup in his original position of SS. Imagine him in that lineup, and also that side of the infield would be untouchable.

Pierre LF
Iguchi 2B
Thome DH
Konerko 1B
ARod SS
Dye RF
Crede 3B
AJ Pierzynski C
Anderson CF

Take a look at that.....
