Which of the players that did come to tOSU would you have kicked off to make room for any of these kids who didn't come here?

As starters: All the ones that eventually flunked out, transferred, were arrested/convicted, and/or failed a drug test.

I think Davis and Manningham are two that might have done us some good but, would I get rid of any of the guys we got to make room for them? No. Good luck to them, I like our guys just fine.

I have to go with Mario Manningham, as he is a true difference maker at WR. I look over thast list and don't see alot of guys that i am bummed about not getting. It would be nice to have some of them, but they are not dominant players at all.

Ernie Wheelwright.

Seriously though, I remember being particularly hurt when we lost Adam Meyers-White and Fred Davis at the time. It didn't really have anything to do with talent, I just thought they were Buckeyes for certain, I can remember thinking about them in Buckeye uniforms and such. I even started to like Prescott Burgess, and when he chose UM I felt both shocked and embarrased for prior emotions felt toward him.

Now, however, I could not care less. Give me a few months to get over it (typically, give me the next batch of recruits) and it's over with.
I never think I'll regret losing a talented player, especially when there is plenty to go around already.

I marked none.

If one doesn't come to Ohio State, I don't really care about him. I don't feel "pain" when he chooses another school. Hell, it happens. It'll happen again. It's no big deal. So three guys we wanted chose other schools. Yawn. We'll still kick ass on Saturdays (and a Monday every now and then, too).

Jarrett isn't from Ohio.

The greatest recruiting loss that I can remember was KiJana Carter, who as I recall, had about zero interest in staying at home and going to OSU.

As far as the poll list goes, the only name that jumps out at me as "Yeah, that guy is pretty good. We could find a place for him" is Manningham.

Maybe Davis too, now that he's a TE. :tongue2:

BB - With Carter that may not be entirely accurate. I recall he committed to PSU, then right before signing day teetered a bit. I think it was during one of the many "fire Cooper" years.

I went with manningham and Edwards. manningham for obvious reasons, plus he'd be OSU's #1 receiver next year. Edwards was pretty productive in his short stint in West Laf, and OSU's D-Line was pretty lackluster in 2004 and 2005 at getting to the QB.
