Which win over Notre Dame is your favorite?

I like that fact that we ALWAYS score over 26 points against them...while they never did during this stretch of 3 games.


For me it's 1995. Just because it was the first time we had played them in so long. My 2nd favorite would have to be the Fiesta Bowl...and 3rd would be 1996. Yet beating them AT Notre Dame is pretty sweet too. All three of these games are AMAZING...and all rank amoung the best Buckeye victories of all time...so it's tough to choose.

I also like the fact that NONE of these games were close. We crushed them EVERY time!

You know what's funny... 95,000+ saw the 1995 game...while in 1996 they didn't even get 60,000 there. Now I KNOW that it has nothign to do with how anticipated the game was...cuz both were jam packed! It's just that I find it funny how much larger Ohio Stadium is...and we fit 10,000 more in it now than we did 10 years ago. Good stuff!!!

Damn - can't I a take a fourth choice of a Trifecta?

The Fiesta Bowl win was so huge in one respect that made it different from the others ..
Neutral Turf, post New Years BCS Bowl Game. Plus you have the massive offensive output, Troy victimizing the Irish with the Deep Ball, and JT demonstrating that CW needs much more than a few weeeks to get past the wiliest post-season coach in college football.

The 95 Win was huge because it did establish Eddie's candidacy for the Heisman early in the season, and it was a great game.

The '96 win has to be viewed as great also because the Buckeyes win in South Bend - not many do that.

Overall though the '95 game gets it because of the re-establishment of a series, because of the way they won that day - and because of Eddie's rise in the eyes of the Heisman voters. Too much history and ultimately too great a win to ignore.

And other than the '95 win, my favorite might end up being one we get next year - also out in the Desert, but that's looking forward.

FWIW they did a big expansion in the late 90's as well, currently they seat 80k or so.

The 1995 game had one additional ingredient that was special for me: it was the date of my wife's 40th birthday. I had several years to plot my schemes: at the skull session, in the stadium and back at home.

With the help of some friends and the Buckeyes, it became a truly extraordinary day.

To top it off, the next day we had a surprise lunch out for her, and Terry Smith (at that time, "the voice of the Buckeyes" on 1460) walked into the restaurant while we were dining. I spoke to him and he agreed to come over to our table and visit.

OSU VS ND VOTE

:oh:The '95 game was sweet - i was there , and the game was so HUGE cuz we've been waitng forever to play them and we kicked ND's butt - '96 game was a sweet win at ND - but 2006 was the best cuz it broke the tie -we r ahead 3-2 and we kicked thier butt AGAIN and all the crap boUt charlie wiess was gettin old - Tress gets no respect - GO BUCKS !!!!!!!!!!:io:
