Where Would You Go....

bigdog3300

The G.O.A.T.
Assume the very realistic thought that you are a 5* caliber player (maybe you are a Strassini) and you can go anywhere you want EXCEPT Ohio State (so pretty much, this is a nightmare)......

Where would you go?

Really just wanted to see the programs on here that people really respect and would want to go to, coaches they'd want to play for, or a chance to grab a top notch education at a Stanford or UVA.

Personally, I'd pick Oklahoma just over UVA. I'm a huge fan of both Coach Stoops and London but the programs success, location, etc. would be the winner in my mind.

What say you.

If I was going for the education, I'd go to UVA or Stanford.

If was going for the college experience, I'd go to Clemson or Texas or a party school like that.

You'd rather live in Oklahoma/Norman than Virginia/Charlottesville?

If grades weren't an issue, I'd have Stanford at or near the top of my list.

If we assume grades in line with what I actually earned in HS, then I'd have schools like Washington, Northwestern, Georgia Tech and Maryland in the next tier. None of those are football powers but I think I would approach it from the standpoint of where I'd like to spend 4-5 years going to school, and I tend to be attracted to places with access to interesting cities.

If I made it more of a football decision I'd look at a place like Georgia. They play at a high level, put guys in the pros, and when I actually considered going to school there IRL I liked the campus.

In no real order:

Stanford. Great school, great area (San Jose, San Francisco).

Texas. Solid school, Austin is a fantastic city.

Duh U. Another solid school, and there are a lot worse places to live than SE Fla.

USC. Great school, in Los Angeles.

My top five would be: Alabama, Notre Dame, UCLA, Northwestern, and Colorado. Eliminate two would put me at Notre Dame, UCLA, and Northwestern. While the Irish would be appealing and the weather at UCLA would be nice, I would end up at Northwestern because they're an up and coming team that offers an amazing education.
