This applies only to this week's AP men's basketball poll.

In the event of a tie (say tied for 20th), only the spot containing 20 would pay out, NOT the spot with #21.

I think Miami was #21 in the AP poll when we beat them (ND was #7). Still, I think we crack the top 20...

The McClinton ejection really hurts our case with Miami. The fact that the Notre Dame game was on ESPNU and half the country didn't get it, probably didn't do us any favors.

I love how mross34 basically answers his own question - two minutes after he poses it. :wink2: asking in one thread

I know that Harangody was coming back from sickness, but how is Notre Dame ranked 8 spots higher than the Bucks after we beat them in what amounted to a home game for them?
then answers it here.

Ohio State definitely belongs in the top 20. But that doesn't mean they will be. There is a bias towards teams that started ranked vs. teams that didn't, ESPECIALLY in the coach's poll. Look at Dayton, they creamed Marquette on a neurtal court, are 8-0, and yet are still unranked in the coach's poll, while Marquette is ranked. I don't know how one could rank Marquette ahead of Dayton. Just like I don't know how people could rank Notre Dame and Miami ahead of Ohio State...yet some people are ranking Miami higher, and most everyone is ranking Notre Dame higher. If you are going to vote, pay attention to basketball. If you really think Notre Dame is the 13th best team in the country, then why isn't Ohio State? But luckily, polls don't matter one bit in basketball, unlike football. Who cares if nobody thinks you are for real...you always have a chance to prove it on the court.
