A bit ridiculous how Clemson stays in the top 4, despite getting blown out by Alabama, considering last year OSU dropped to #6 after being blown out by Clemson, with one of the non-playoff teams that hopped OSU being Oklahoma (who, obviously, OSU had defeated earlier in the season).

The thing about Clemson is this........so you win the ACC, so what? USC was a Conf Champ too and got blown out in their bowl game.

To me the ACC barely beats out the PAC on the fight to the bottom as far as conference strength. Now that the season is over, how good does the ACC look?

A fair list would be:

1 Bama
2 UGA
3 OU
4 tOSU
5 UCF
6 Clemson
7 Wiscy

I don’t care from here.

It all comes back to their "comparing the two losses" schtick: Our 15-point loss at home to a CFP team vs. Clemson's 18-point loss on a neutral field to the national champion, and our 31-point loss at Iowa vs. their 3-point loss at Syracuse. Plus the subconscious remnants of Clemson breaking one off in us in the CFP last year, justified or not. As I posted earlier in this thread, I saw no way for us to break into the top 5, and I really didn't care because we still had a pretty damn good season.

That only looks at this year, though--my original post was about the AP lacking year-to-year consistency. The AP seemed to have no problem forgetting about what we did to Oklahoma last year (in Norman, no less) or Oklahoma's "not close" loss to Houston when they vaulted Oklahoma over us following the CFP semifinal loss to Clemson. Yet this year the AP can't seem to forget our loss to Oklahoma or our blowout loss to Iowa when Clemson gets trounced in the CFP semi?
