Is there something you need to tell us? Not that there is anything wrong with that...

1) You found out what was happening on 9/11 -
Sitting in my dorm room with my roommate, freaking out because we saw the second plane hit before the newscasters knew what was going on, and then running down the hall with all 40-50 of our terrified floormates to cluster around the big floor TV and watch the news coverage. I remember sitting back, looking around at the tearstained faces and the girls clutching pictures of their family/friends in the service praying we weren't going to war, and thinking, "I will remember this all of my life."

My (current) boss's son worked in one of the trade center buildings next to the main center, and often was at the Trade center, but was away on business that day. It was more than 24 hrs before they heard from either him or their daughter, who also lives/works in NYC.

2) tOSU won the NC
Sitting in my basement alone, doing my darndest to keep up with what was going on (I didn't know a whole lot about football at the time, and my dad who usually helped explain things had gotten called to work at the end of the first quarter so he was taping it)and biting my fingernails off. Then he got home right at the start of the second OT and I had to holler, "DON'T TURN ON THE TV YET!" And then when the game was over I had to completely hide my elation and excitement to go up and watch the whole game over again, trying not to give away the outcome :)

3) Challenger exploded
I honestly can't remember. I was in first grade.

4) The Red Sox won the World Series
Consoling my dad, who is a lifelong Yankee Fan (and I can offer pictures of myself at 2 weeks old to prove it)

5) You lost your virginity
Mm, no answer.

2. In my apartment in Austin.
3. In my 3rd grade class watching the launch on television.
4. In a hotel bar while on a business trip to Atlanta.
5. In my 1998 Ford Aerostar van on one of the many dirt roads in Paulding County.

1) At home in bed. I fell asleep on 9/10 watching SportsCenter, and remember waking up to Peter Jennings and ABC News. Still half asleep, I couldn't figure out when I'd changed the channel from ESPN to ABC. Of course, all 100 cable channels were carrying one of the 3 major networks' news feeds, or CNN or the BBC, but it took awhile for the images on the toob to register.
2) At my buddies house screaming my lungs out and busting my knuckles on his low ceiling. I got plastered pretty early, but I'll never forget bear-hugging my buds the moment Grant grabbed cloth on Dorsey's jersey and started spinning him around. I remember seeing Grant exploding off the corner unblocked and thinking, Jesus ... don't miss him!!!
3) At home, sick. I was home with my mom and made her change the channel away from the Price is Right to watch the Challenger launch.
4) At home, watching the series with my girlfriend and talking to another friend over the phone. We both grew up Twins fans, and we were talking about how nice it was to see Doug Menzwhatshisfuckzyw catch the last out.
5) At my high school sweethearts place. We were home alone, listening to Pink Floyd's The Wall, and I think I was 14 at the time. I remember my oldest sister had given me a box of Trojans for Father's Day as a gag gift, and it was that Father's Day weekend.

A couple other events that I have really strong memories of were the Reds 1990 WS sweep, my first Reds game (I was 5 and it was the Big Red Machines' heyday), my first Ohio State game, the '98 MSU comeback at the Shoe (I was at that one), and of course, the one memory I'll carry forever - my cousin smashing my left index finger off at the first knuckle with a cinder block, playing in a creek when we were both 7. :(

1) Getting ready for my Econ class. I get a call from my ride, I immediately thought "Oh ok Tom is just cancelling on me." Instead it's (exact quote) "MITCHELL! Turn on the news! We're being attacked!" The feeling inside my stomach was a weird one.

2) Running around my basement screaming, slapping everyone on the head/back/wherever. Not a single other person I invited over picked OSU to win the game (to spite me I'm sure).

3) I was but a year old. I do not remember.

4) Red Sox? Eh whatever.

5) In a bed. I remember her mom being in an adjacent room... what a weird moment in time.

1- Reading an article on how the Browns Offense sucks in the breakroom at work... someone had to come find me because everyone was freaking out because all the managers were at a conference and I (along with one other guy) was the only person there with any authority whatsoever...

2- In my buddies basement freaking out.

3- Sitting behind some hot ballerina Chick in Algebra class who was crying her eyes out.

4- I think I watched it at home.

5- On my living room floor banging the ballerina girl who was crying at the loss of the Challenger a few years before sitting in front of me in Algebra... really.
