Where to go after the game 9/8/07?

sullie

Go Bucks!
Okay, I'm damn near 40 (almost, not quite), I'm from Ohio and my God this is going to sound disgraceful but I'm popping my cherry this weekend and going to my first tOSU game this weekend. Keep in mind I've never missed a game (either on radio or t.v.) in probably 25+ years I'm thinking.

Anyway - so my question - what's a good place to go after the game that won't be too, too crowded that I can go to, that's Buckeye friendly, within walking distance of the stadium (key point I forgot to mention) and that serves up a reasonably priced meal and has a decent beer selection? I'm looking to kill an hour or two while the traffic dies down after the game plus just enjoy the moment a bit.

Thanks in advance!

Varsity Club and Rally at Riverwatch are usually pretty sparsely attended.

Thank you - I mapped out the varsity club. I don't know why I recall this but my next door neighbor (where I lived when I was a kid) graduated from tOSU and used to sport a Varsity Club shirt. Mind you this was the mid to late 1970's (I would have been 10 in '78.) He went to under grad and grad school at tOSU.

any place "within walking distance" is going to be slammed, youll feel like a sardine in a tin can. granted it is akron, so it wont be that busy, but no place in walking distance or even on lane ave over the river, applebees etc wont be full.

Last week after the game rally at riverwatch had a bunch of people but not crowded.

Eddie George's Grille 27 and Hineygate are other possibilities; however, they may be crowded.

Last year, went to a 3:30 kickoff and went to Eddie George's Grille and that place was PACKED! Ended up sitting in the back surrounded by 7 LCD monitors ALL tuned into college football, and that food is AMAZING!

Excellent, thank you for the skull session and restaurant suggestions guys I appreciate those!

Is there some sort of area with the championship trophies or Buckeye football history that the public can visit?

The Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe on Olentangy has tons of memorabilia.
