Somehow I found the VanillaGorilla web site... and was addicted in short order
I was becoming very upset when VG did not post immediately after he had been out watching Friday games.. he'd get too drunk to come back to post.. and we'd have to wait till he sobered up on Saturday
This was very disappointing.. because a Saturday post was littered with reason and thought... Fridays post made you pee yourself laughing because he was still drunk while providing what I always felt was excellent talent evals.. I mean, where else can you get football highlights interspersed with stories about how the dog wouldn't stop dry humping him while he was passed out from drinking.. a CLASSIC by the way
Eventually he became a responsible human being and it ruined everything.. He screwed it all up by getting a manager job with responsibility... and the whole thing went downhill after that
Eventually even he realized the world was crumbling and he told us all to come here... WORK was interfering with us getting regular updates... the nerve... then after the RR took a dive.. he is a mere shadow.. a waste of great entertaining talent...

I suspect my path to BP is much like many of our other long time residents. While scanning the interwebs in search of other folks who share both my passion for the finest quality lunchmeats of both the cured and smoked varieties, as well as my hatred of all things Turkey I landed at the Planet the first time.
My second experience was very similar: In the midst of some difficult relationships at work I embarked an another internet search, this time in search of variations of the word Douche to use in a derogotory manner. Of course in early 2004 Dihard/Alan was a regular on the site and my search for the word Douche led me back to the Planet. I have been here ever since.
I must say DiHard/Alan was the master of derogotory Douche usage

Looking for a Texas v. tOSU Hype Video - found BP in 05, posted on another username and changed it to this one because I didn't want MookieWilson harassing me..

I saw BP referenced on BuckNuts after the Mili and Clarity bannings. After I came here, I never looked back. Well okay, maybe once. :p

That might be where I found out about BP... I think I saw a veiled reference to BuckeyePlanet on Bucknuts At That Time and in trying to figure out where it was found Banned Posters, then eventually found the link here from there. During the heated Zwick/Troy debate of 2004 I began searching online for a Buckeye forum to find other people's views. Found BP in short order after the Iowa ass raping and read for a while before registering and posting here and there leading up to the Alamo Bowl. Began posting regularly in the summer leading up to the '05 season.

I can't remember exactly when I found the BP. I was sick of Bucknuts and ran a search to find out if something better was out there...and the answer was yes...The Buckeye Planet.
I lurked for a while, then joined but didn't post for a while...I was way too afraid of being treated like a NOOB. Apparently I got lucky in that I don't really remember anyone flaming me much. Although I did feel quite ignored in the beginning. It's so hard to make friends these days.
