When you first came to BuckeyePlanet...

I won a math debate
Ok, so I thought I would start a thread... I first started reading BP pretty much after we beat Notre Dame in 2005, I had been hanging out on the MUCH EASIER TO UNDERSTAND ESPiN forums, and really, it's tough to explain but anything you posted there would get three flaming responses to every legitimate response.
Example:

What do you think of Troy Smiths performance against Notre Dame? <my post>

Dude, your mom smells like my balls <response 1>
USC is the greatest team on the planet <response 2>
Go Blue, screw Ohio <response 3>
Troy did well, I was really impressed with how he threw the ball, I didn't expect this type of performance at the beginning of the year, he makes us Buckeyes proud <legitimate response>

And three more flames would follow.

So, I would google search players names and the BP threads would come up, I would read them as well as the Bucknuts thread and Rivals threads and sit and take it all in. My first try was Rivals, fuck, they want me to pay for stuff... so I did a trial, and realized the information was as bad as ESPN's as far as the posters went, so I never paid.

I continued to read here and the NC for 2006 was coming. I didn't know what to make of this place, so I joined, not understanding h ow all of this information could be free, I think I donated like my first 2 weeks for 20 bucks, I was expecting to get a bill.

But, alas, I would read and get into the open discussion, especially the Heroes thread and grow to understand a bit of the culture, I was kind of scared of posting, there were people like Bucky Katt who were total douchebags that I was afraid would flame my posts, and this guy who's name was "#10 Troy Smith" that I couldn't figure out if he was actually Troy or some homo that wanted to pretend he was cool...

So eventually, I made this post:

http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/...iance-memphis-judge-accused-paying-woman.html

And my rep would go back and forth, and I would hang out and see what happened, making a couple posts a day to see if anyone would understand when I was funny, helpful or just a dumbass...

And here's where we are today..

So, what's your story?

I forget to mention one detail, I noticed that when Grad21 repped me, I would get multiple green dots, so at that point, he couldn't even figure out how to set up a wireless network, thus, I would kiss his ass at every point. Hell, I think that pr ick has my lip prints on his ass to this day.

(Yes, I am pretty drunk)

My story is pretty simple. I was hanging out at the NCAA forums on XBox.com and replying to ignorant posts with common sense. That got old. I read a few people over there mention BP, so I gave it a shot. Turns out that me giving BP a shot turned my life around, the wrong way.

When I got here, I made a thread about Dick Nolan and got a ruby from Tibor. Then I was :(. I haven't recovered from the depression of the ruby. I've received other rubies from Tibor, and my state of mind has only regressed. I think I may be doomed to BP failure. My rep may look like it's recovered, but the mental trauma that I felt on that day is still killing me on the inside. I think that I'm the only person to get a ruby from Tibor. That fact makes me feel like a waste. Maybe I can drag myself out of this BP hole and get it together. Maybe I'll be a good poster then. Until that point, I'm going to have to live with this feeling of despair.

..and here I am.

Go Bucks!!

Someone sent me an invite over on Bucknuts asking why in the hell I wasn't over here yet (early '04).

"Over where? The one where all the folks kicked off every other boards have matriculated?"

"Yeah"

"I dunno, just haven't checked it out I guess."

That was sometime in early 04. I came over a bit then took a contract in the sand box...posted a bit more...then went back over. Then finally came back for the long haul.

To be fair #3 is also a legitimate response.

If someone had asked about Mike Hart's performace you as a Buckeye would be obligated to reply with "That little blue smurf smells like your mom's balls. Screw Blue! O - H!"

Mine is pretty simple. Once I realized how shitty Bucknuts was, myself and some others defected and created out own forum. It was more of a joke than anything, as you would be able to tell by the name of it. I will allow someone else to step up and bring back that memory

Anyway, we heard about the planet starting up, and shifted over to here. Ahh, good times.

I think I have a similar story to a lot of the newer users. Around July of 2006, I started hearing rumblings (maybe in a Bucket of Bullets or something) about this unbelievable football/basketball prospect from Western PA that was interested in the Bucks. So I googled Terrelle Pryor and tried to find as much information as I could about him. BP was one of the first things to come up. I'd never joined a message board before but I lurked for a few months, liked what a saw, and then thought I'd jump in the conversation so I signed up.

Silly Shetuck... That's step 16.

Obviously you missed that memo. Mike Barwis is like the step spooner. All steps lead to Barwis. He is the alpha and omega of steps.

Mike Barwis is the step-child of the Almighty. Ann Arbor is his mama.
