Whatever happened to the Ozone Hole?

What's going on with the hole in the Ozone layer?

What do you need water for, Sunshine?
I'd like to do a "Top of Mind Analysis" (TOMA). @Steve19 can give the detail behind a TOMA and the purpose it serves.

But, for now, let's just say I'm doing an unscientific study to find out where people are in terms of their "top of mind" understanding about what's going on with the hole ozone layer.

My request is that you don't run an online search to get the answer. I'm just interested in where y'all think things are with the ozone. I'll explain more about the reason why I'm asking this question a little later because I don't want my reasons for asking to bias your responses.

I've set up a poll just to keep track of things.

EDIT: The poll question isn't so clear. It should read "What's going on with the hole in the ozone layer?"

The Ozone Hole was mostly arrested due to the passage of the Montreal Protocol in 1989 and now in recovery, expected to reach pre-1980 levels by 2075.

I know this because I just paid a guy $315 for 5 lbs of R22 refrigerant for my 1995 3-ton TRANE compressor last week, and he was explaining why the next call will cost me $2800 to replace everything.

Don't forget to vote in the poll.

I just realized the thread and the poll are titled differently enough as to make the Q/A misleading. One asks what happened to the hole, the other asks what is going on with the layer.

You bastard.
