if we beat texas in week two, 13-0

i have no concerns for our defense because of a guy i know by the name of Jim Tressel. when has he not had a good defense?

there should be no question as of how the offense is going to do...

i just wondered what you guys think the most likely game of the season is for the bucks to lose this season? i don't mean to be negative, but i just wondered what everyone thought, the texas game i think they'll win, because they will be gunning for them after last season. Michigan speaks for itself, they will be ready, the iowa game worries me more than anything, its on the road at night, and i think it will be a tough game!

what does everyone else think?

Personally, I think Iowa will be okay (tOSU wins), same with Texas. The one that scares me is Michigan State. The last couple of times, they almost upset the Buckeye apple cart.

KEY word is "young" defense. They will not be ready to beat Texas in Austin. You lost way too many starters. Saying that, I believe that will be the only game you lose, and we will lose 2 games due to inexperience at QB, on away games. I may be wrong, but I don't think there will be any undefeated teams this year, so if the votes fall right, you just may very well be in the title game. If you get there, I think you have the best shot at winning it.

You obviously haven't been reading much here, else you'd know that there is not as much drop-off on the defense as the simple statement "you lost nine starters" implies. Our defense will be more than a match for your two infant QBs, both of whom have yet to take a snap at the college level. And don't talk about their "supporting cast"...that's all been hashed and rehashed over in the game thread.

13-0

:osu: Smith is playing, Vince is not. I see Smith doing to Texas what Texas did to Ohio State last year. It doesn't matter how good your defence is if the QB can run the ball. So that leaves Michigan for the undefeated season. By then our Defence will be tested and more then ready to stop the Michigan offence just like they have the last few years.

And it absolutely matters, even if the QB can run. Young had one great run against OSU (32 yards)... on the first drive. He was all but shut down after that. You don't think that mattered?

No it doesn't matter when your QB is a running threat. The Defense is basically playing flat footed the entire game because they have no idea what the QB is going to do. No Defense, no matter how good can shut that down, and we saw that when tOSU lost.

You're right. But the other dynamic is speed on both sides of the ball--I don't think the Longhorns are prepared for it. But, we'll find out, won't we?
