What was your favorite shows on nick when you where younger?

The Schoolhouse Rock shorts were really cool. Hilliard Davidson High School's drama club has created a "Scholhouse Rock" stage performance that has won them a lot of critical acclaim and are going to Scotland (or Ireland) this summer to perform it there.

I don't think there is a person my age that doesn't at least know parts of "I'm Just a Bill" or "Conjunction Junction" by heart.

I bought the first season Fraggle Rock on DVD for my five year old last year. She loves the show.

Other non-Nick favorites: (some are similar to Romanowski's list -- Airwolf, MacGyver, A-Team, Starman, Chips, Emergency 51, Andy Griffith Show reruns and Leave it to Beaver reruns, etc.)

Nick favorite: You Can't Do That On Television.

Oh shit yeah, I watched the Muppet Show when it was on regular TV. I always liked the old guys sitting up in the balcony.

"You idiot! You slept throught the show!"
"Who's the idiot? You stayed awake!"

Brilliant! I can't wait for the second season to come out on DVD. Season 1 came out two years ago and they STILL haven't released season 2. :pissed:

Since this thread is starting to evolve past cartoons, how about these classics from the 70's/80's? Loved both of these shows. I am totally not into the new Battlestar. Man, I was in love with Erin Gray too back then.

And... if anyone remembers Starblazers.
You are my hero of the day. I have not been able to remember the names of these 2 shows. I think I found one of these shows one night when I couldn't sleep. It had to be on like at 3am or something. Kudos.

Besides the ones already mentioned...

Captain Planet (not on Nick, I think it ran on TBS)

Man I hated that show, even as a kid I thought it was a very lame premise for a cartoon. I won't let my kids watch it. It's like a bunch of little animated Al Gore's running around.

John Cleese?? Sweet!! I am sure I had no idea who that was back then. I had yet to experience Monty Python, although I had heard of the Flying Circus show, just never had seen it. I gotta downlo....I mean purchase both of those.

Nothing wrong with downlo.....purchasing shows. :paranoid:

The Katt household just recently discovered a pre-Monty Python show with John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Marty Feldman, and a fellow named Tim Brooke-Taylor. At Last the 1948 Show - features some skits that Monty Python used later on. Hilarious stuff. Hell, just looking at Marty Feldman's eyes is hilarious!

Hijack! That reminds me of "monty Python and the holy grail" now that movie would screw with your mind. I had to watch it like 3 or 4 times before I got it all.

They showed it at the Ohio Theatre Friday night as part of the summer movie series. Probably the most raucous crowd they've had in there. At least since the OSU-UM concert in November.

Bull shit thread. Nothing from the cable era is old enough. Anyone your age has no business throwing out a nostalgia quiz. Howdy Doody and Kukla, Fran and Ollie... live... test patterns.. wait a few years, your turn will come.:tongue2:

God, I must have been in anwry mood... waiting for the prunes to hit and the pension checks to clear. I'll add a smiley face and lighten things up.

:oh:
