You're giving them too much credit. I've seen enough dumb calls to know refs are too fucking incompetent to be corrupt.

OR Oklahoma 7-8 years ago. Replay official gave the ball to the Ducks. It clearly should have went to the Sooners. Official was an OR alumnus. NCAA has become too big for conference officials. At least with a pool of NCAA refs you can eliminate alumni calling games--and eliminate the perception of the team the conference needs to advance getting the calls.
