Dryden;850648; said:Went over to Meijer at lunch today to do some quick shopping, and walked out of the store to see my front right wheel sitting on its rim. Somewhere along the way I'd picked up a nail and the tire had bled all the air in under 10-minutes.
Across the parking lot was a Discount Tire supercenter, so I walked over there and asked one of the guys what they charged for a patch. He said "Nothing, just bring the vehicle over." I explained the situation, so he threw a floor jack into the back of his truck and drove over to my car, took off the tire, went back to the store to patch it, and brought it back. Guy didn't charge me a dime, but I tipped him a Jackson for bailing me out.
Hell, he had the whole thing done before I could've assembled that craptastic jack that's included in the trunk with my spare, or before I could've gotten through the automated phone menu with AAA -- and that's not even counting the time to change to my spare, and then drive somewhere to get the patch and the wheels changed back out again.
Don't know what my next tire brand will be, but I know where I'm going to buy them. Best customer service experience I've ever had with any business, and after walking around their showroom for a little while I see their prices were well below Sears, NTB, and even WalMart. :)

Buckin' A;851177; said:Yes, it is right beside the Texas Roadhouse. Sets directly in front of Steak and Shake.
Hi Dry... you might want to look at that again... I suspect they probably will give you a discount equal to the pct you fall short of exp life only... they can do this because it keeps you coming back and the profit margins on the tires are minimal but profit margin on LABOR to mount and balance is 100%Dryden;1000508; said:Also, FWIW, if you buy your tires at Discount Tire, they will honor the full warranty and completely replace the tire for free if it does not survive it's factory rated exp. life. Only get 45,000 miles out of your 50,000 mile tires? They'll put four new ones on, no cost, provided there's reasonable proof of routine maintenance being done. No reason there shouldn't be, since they'll do air, alignments, rotations, whatever -- free if you buy the tires there.
