Just like the title says. What is the browser you use more often.

The poll is multiple choice so if use a different browser at work than at home go ahead and check both.

What made you decide on your browser of choice (for work that should be obvious) and what other browsers have you tried?

----Opera (current version 9.63) has been my primary browser for several years now. I fiddled with it back in the day when it was ad/nagware but for me it wasn't ready for prime time until version 8.5 when the banner ads were removed. It's not as flexible as Firefox but it has pretty much all the features I want already built in. The biggest advantage to me is it's smaller footprint than Firefox. FFs memory issues drive me crazy!

If I wasn't on a BSD box I'd probably fiddle with Chrome more, I think it's a nice slick streamlined browser but is probably a version or two away from really being something to reckon' with.

I've played with just about every browser on the list at one time or another with some of the MacOS specific ones (iCab, Shiira) being the exceptions. I'm sure that I've used the AOL browser in the past when logging in through friend's machines back in the day but don't recall much about it. Likewise I've looked at MSN Explorer briefly on new boxes where it was preloaded...and then deleted it.

I still use FireFox 2 on the computer that I do some work stuff on (they haven't put the patch out yet from the software I use with it so I can't upgrade), but my laptops use FireFox 3.

I only use IE7 at work and only for one or two simple things.

I've been using IE since birth but I have actually been thinking about switching to Firefox...sounds like everyone who uses it seems to agree that it more secure and more customizable than IE...sound about right?

Haven't used IE for a long time, but yes. Those were the reasons that I switched, anyways.

IE (Hated it, my least favorite, and haven't used it since Firefox was released)
Firefox (Have used it since .08 release, and am waiting for an add-on like the most visited in google chrome)
Google Chrome (Not bad, but wanted to see if it took up less space and used about the same)
Safari (Not bad, but doesn't compare to Firefox)
Netscape (2nd worst I tried)

IE just doesn't seem quick to me. I only use it on occasion, and it never seems to be as quick as FF3. Opera seemed to have a higher usage on my computer, then the others. Chrome is pretty quick, but i'd have to see some improvements before I used it regularly. FF3 FTW

Firefox 3.x for me. If nothing else, it's worth it just for the adblock plus extension. It's always weird when I get on somebody else's computer and am reminded how littered so many sites are with advertisements.

I'm also loving the redesign on the address bar for 3.0. Hit CTRL+L, then start typing a page title, web address, bookmark, etc and it filters them down as I type. Love it.

I was going with GUI browsers you text loving freak. :p

(I also purposely left out Links a bunch of older browsers)

Bah, the internet is better when the majority of it is left to the imagination, like a good book.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go install Homenet and search Archie for some sweet ASCII art.
