What is your Favorite News Program?

With all the political debate going on I thought it would be telling to find out what news programs folks enjoy most - cable, network, radio - whatever.

For entertainment value I like O'Reilly.
For pure news content I lean towards Jim Lehrer (if I can stay awake for the entire program).
But for objective political debate I don't think anyone can touch Chris Matthews.

I hate to admit it, but I never watch the national news on TV. With a one-year old and a three-year old I have turned to getting my national news on-line. I use to love watching ABC Nightly News. In high school I drove my brother crazy because I would watch Headline News for hours. He never could figure out why I would watch the same half-hour show over and over, and I could never explain why.

When I can I like to catch some Tim Russert. I like his style and approach to interviewing. I cannot sit and watch O'Reilly as I think he is nothing more than someone who thinks the loudest wins.

Yeah, I'm usually still at work when the nightly news hits. For a good laugh, I usually hit O'Reilly's show. The ignorance and stupidity he displays on a weekly basis all the while keeping a straight face while he says he's impartial make for some amusement after a hard day at work.

cnn's attempts at providing a neutral discussion always get me laughing too.....3 established liberals and one conservative who can never get a word in.....when he/she does....they break for a commercial....

suffice it to say....there is no such thing as an impartial media outlet.....or a single good source......

me...i just sample it all and try to weed out the crap from the information....and form my own opinion after reviewing several sources....

Yeah, the old conservative line. CNN is liberal. Sure....

Does the Tonight Show or Conan OBrien count?? :biggrin2: Just Kidding. I once read a story on how some people do rely on them for news.

I usually throw CNN on in the morning and stick to the paper like KSB. I'll watch the local guys every now and then but I miss them most of the time because I'm playing with the kids before bedtime or I'm at work.

only watch the local late night news (11:00 news). They don't really cover anything national. I do skim the Dispatch in the mornings (sports, front page, and business sections), if I see something of interest I read the article.
