What I don't want to see...

I honestly can't agree here, even a little bit.

To suggest we choked is to suggest that Florida isn't a worthy national champion. And I find that a horrible injustice. Florida played like a championship team when it mattered most. How they got to that point is less important than what they did with it.

The Gators have everything to celebrate, and I for one offer congrats on what was nearly flawless execution from start to finish. Even if we choked, Florida WON that game on their own merits.

Not giving credit where credit is due is a chronic ailment I've seen over at umgoblue. Maybe I'm less for it somehow, but when the team I love is flat beat by way of good football, then I find respect for those who did it. I think no less of our offense or team now than I did before the game. A pure process of elimination leaves me with tremendous respect for what Florida pulled off.

Would Florida win 2 out of 3? I have no idea. Would they have won had we played the week after Michigan? No idea. Could they beat USC, Michigan, or even Boise State? I suspect yes, yes, and hell yes -- but NONE of that matters.

The Gators are the national champions, and they did what no one else could (including 2 other #2 teams) this season, beat the Buckeyes, and beat them convincingly.

Why does this post still not have a GPA?

the only thing i would add to the conversation is that the layoff hurt us pretty significantly. moreso than i could have ever expected. nowhere at no point were we ever in sync. the most obvious example was the offensive line. but we were out of position or beaten badly at every position repeadedly throughout the night. some of florida's scheming gave us significant problems. some of florida's talent gave us significant problems. but the biggest issues we had were basic fundamentals.

florida earned it, tOSU didn't. they showed up ready to play for a nc. thats football, its why we play the games. its as simple as that.

congrats to florida, you deserve it. big props to meyer for not running up the score. that was very classy.

I think he did a little but.. Up by 20 and its 4th down on the and he goes for it and not kick the fg I thought was a little classless, but ehhh they spanked us 41-14, 60-14 or 21 -14 all the outcomes suck :-)

if your talking in the 3rd quarter... the game was still very much in doubt at that point. it certainly isn't unheard of for tOSU to score 21 in a quarter regardless of how pissy we were playing at the time. florida could have hung 60 on us last night. remember who had the ball last and where their drive ended as time expired.

I thought Meyer was a class act, before, during, and after the game.

Er, not so much. The offensive display we put up against Michigan would have kept us in the game, but our D just hasn't been there like we're used to the past 2 games. Florida took it to us, and this night we had no answer.

Jeesus, I knew Michigan fans were delusional at times, but how the hell do you take 41-14 and start saying what if?

Hey, some folks simply say/post things to aid their thesis efforts :wink2:
