What golf clubs do you use?

I agree that Cleveland wedges are the way to go...like I mentioned before I have the CG11 in a 56-degree and the CG12 in a 48-degree. I use the CG12 in all kinds of situation...it is very versatile and has a great set-up.

Speaking of wedges, the Titleist Vokey wedges are very nice too, but damn, they eat golf balls. The face is very rough, and they do create a great amount of spin. Yet I hate having to replace a golf ball every time I use a wedge. It's bad enough already, but those Vokeys are guaranteed to tear up the golf ball.

Just bought a new 56 and 60 today.

I think I drove the sales guy at golfsmith crazy. I don't think he realized I was a scratch golfer at first so he kept looking at me weird when I was asking certain questions. He had no clue what the difference was in bounces. I gave up on him and I ended up doing it by myself. I had to drive home and get my old ones and compare the bounces by eye ball. I went with 10 degrees on the L and 14 on the 56 degree. Then I had him put them on the smith machine and match the lofts and lies. Then I made him cut a half inch off the lob wedge because it was longer. Then I had them take the grips off because the stock grips suck. I switched to the tour wrap from golf pride. After it was all said and done though, I was very pleased with the service. They were quite understanding once I explained myself.

I am now not looking forward to the next 6 months of using my new wedges. Getting used to the extra spin a new wedge creates is a bitch! I needed them bad though. You couldn't even read the 'Cleveland' on the bottom of my 60 degree.

getting that kind of service out of an on-line club store rates greenies galore.....I had that kind of trouble with Dunn's....and I was in front of the bloke.

Just got back my driver and 3-wood from being reshafted and gripped. Hit the ball 20 yards farther (big dog), and 15 yards farther, but waaaay straighter with the 3. As one gets older, the shaft needs to be more flexible (get your mind out of the gutters, well, yes, that too). Got yelled at by the group ahead of us for hitting into them (actually 6 yards off the front edge), which was new for me (usually off to the right). Golf pride oversized, half-cord, and Winn-7 for the irons. Turned two 86's from the tips last week end, which is good for me, but not fourteenandoh's scratch.....

I'm having wedge problems, so will look at the Cleveland's, don't care for the Volkey's, and currently play Ping eye 3's for gap, pitching, with Hogan's for the 60 and the sand. Haven't had them calibrated to see the degree variance, should be 4 degrees between each......short game......

that's a good set there 'bus. i prefer cleveland wedges, but they were so popular and dominant in the marketplace that everyone else has copied them. cleveland, titleist, ping, calaway and TM all have wedges that are pretty much the same now.

we are going to scottsdale this weekend for THEWOODs bachelor party and we will be playing at ASU on friday. i'm looking forward to breaking in the new wedges. its going to be a good time.

Enjoy the weather, though probably colder than Indian Summer......hit 'em long, straight, and not too often! There's a large contingent of Buckeye alums, so if you can drop in to see them for the game. Also, there's a Ping demo store around there (home of Karsten Solheim - Ping) that might be worth a look-see. Enjoy

Does anyone have the new Taylormade Burner irons? They are badass looking, and the reviews I have read are good as well. They are steel shafts, and are all black, with a silver face. The grips are black/white and look really cool, and the will be mine from Santa!!
