There are so many "what ifs" in evaluating Clarett. He appears to be injury-prone. He had obvious problems with academic eligibility, even if these may have been attitudinal. He definitely has emotional intelligence issues that will keep some professional advisor well employed for years and constantly impact on his team relations.

With these problems, even if he is drafted and becomes successful in the NFL, he will always remain tainted, always be "damaged goods". Goodness, the product endorsement fees this young man has blown off!

Without these problems or overcoming them, then I believe that Maurice Clarett would have gone down as one of the greatest running backs in college football history. This is why his story is such a sad one of self-inflicted wounds. He is the poster-child for destroying your own career.

MoC, without question. We would have beaten Wisconsin last year and probably scUM, and this year we would have beaten NW, Wisconsin & Purdue. That's at least 5 wins he would have landed for us.
In those 2 years, the Bucks lost 6 games. You say MoC wins 4-5 of those, and I'm having trouble disagreeing with you. That's a pretty big difference. Smith, I don't believe, would have made as much of a difference. I remember Smith as being great, but Harris and George (and maybe By'not'e) were there to pick up the job when Smith was gone. We've all seen what's happened to the Bucks without MoC. I think MoC, remaining healthy and if he were "not stupid," beats out any other RB that I've ever seen at the college level, as far as importance to his team goes.
