How was your visit to Strawberry Park, Rock3tm4nn? We're going to Steamboat in late January and will be sure to head up to the hot springs

All in all it was really cool. We went at night but they have no lighting so you can't see anything, and of course being kind of intoxicated at the time doesn't help. The lack of lighting makes clothing optional, and a couple of our friends decided to get nekkid (thankfully the girls too). We jumped into the river which must have been like 40 degrees, (but nothing unfamiliar thanks to jumping in Mirror Lake) and then thawed off in the hot springs. That was uh...envigorating, to say the least. Like you said, the road leading to the place was really crazy - winding, twisty, and steep (not to mention the snow was coming down pretty hard and made things slick. We rented a tour bus to shuttle us between Strawberry Park and our condo in Steamboat, and it was worth every penny. The drivers have probably seen everything and navigated the roads with ease.

I miss sledding, snowball fights, building igloos, rolling a large snowball back and forth across a hill until it takes off downhill, and just generally having fun until my lungs are burning and my fingers and toes are freezing.

More pics from the 'Boat...

Got back from Steamboat yesterday, and I must say, I miss the mountains already. Ohio is...well...really flat. All in all, it was a great trip. No serious injuries or anything and all my gear held up great.
