What do you call that stuff...?

...that embalms bread and other items to make a still life decoration?

They coat it in a glaze almost, and then arrange similarly affected items in a basket as a table decoration?

yeah I thought 'embalming' would work too, but came up empty. About 15 years ago, my best friend and I talked his younger brother into trying this delicious bread, which he did. I can't think of what that stuff was called.
and i don't think the 1st hit has to do with what you're looking for

Nazi Interior Decoration

line.jpg

Background: Nazism claimed to be a worldview, a system that applied to every aspect of life. This article, from the party monthly for its leaders, explains that interior decoration and the celebration of holidays and festivals should also be guided by the party. One should be able to know someone was Nazi by how he lived his personal life, the writer suggests.
The source: Wolfgang Schultz, "Auch an seinem Heim erkennt man den Nationalsozialisten!" Die Hoheitstr?ger 3 (August 1939), pp. 16-18. I'm not entirely sure of the month -- the copy I am working from is in a bound volume with the cover missing.

The only 'crafts' I've done lately, is start turning our coffee table into the ohio stadium turf. Looks normal for company, but on gameday, flip the tiles and you have ohio stadium painted on there. Haven't made it past the green paint though :)

Looks like this, except with 12 tile squares instead of 3, and no glass over the tiles.

Astro Turf or green paint?

I'm not actually spraying or adding turf on there, though that would be kind of cool. It actually is just green paint, despite the quote. The wife did it as a surprise to get the project started, while I was out of town.

Any suggestions for how to do turf? Is there anything like the stucco they put on ceilings that might work? Something that's a little finer (not as large of 'bumps')?

Buy large quantities of Chia pet supplies?
