I think whoop-dee-[censored]ing-doo.

They're on every [censored]ing week already. And with ESPN's soon-to-be knob-slobbering all over them I'm sure to have my fill of them.
I can see alot of different points of view but that one just is crazy. SO u know, i live in the south and Ohio State is on almost every week. cry me a river with that..granted sometimes i have to get the gameplan to see the smaller games but most of the games are on tv down here..then u got the big 10 network nationally...heck its arguable who has more tv time...

Whatever.

I'm about as likely to tune in to a network about the SEC as any random game on ESPN, ABC or whatnot.

I think it's hilarious that they've become the epitome of what caused them to scream bloody murder in Dec 2006, except this is on a completely different level.

Enjoy the ride while it lasts boys, football is cyclical. Nebraska came crashing down, so did OU, so did Miami, and USC could be NCAA'ed in that direction too.

The favortism has been obvious for years now. ESPN has always been an entertainment tabloid masquerading as a news organization, and now that tampering will only get worse. OSU had their perks in the media vs the small time schools, but nowhere near like what we've seen in recent years. Michigan got annihilated for their Rose Bowl performance in 06, while the Sugar Bowl implosion by Bama went largely unnoticed nationally.

I think if an SEC team wins the BCSCG - making it 4 in a row - then the suicide rate will go up North of the Mason-Dixon, which will roughly correspond to the increased rate of ESPN pundits knob jobbing the conference.

I'd just like them to play a comparable BCS lineup to ours. For all of their greatness, they've played some pretty poor opponents relative to the stage of the game.

Hawaii. Utah. Notre Dame. Backdoor OSU 07. Already Won OSU 06. WVU 05 (half of a team). Blown out in Dec OU 03.

I'd settle for someone playing USC in a second tier bowl, but that wouldn't get noticed either.

If Hawaii, OSU 07, OSU 06 & OU 03 were as unworthy of opponents as they claim, and at least 3 of those were, then why is that overlooked?

Oklahoma 08 was one of the first competent BCS opponents they've played in awhile, and they weren't exactly flawless on defense during 08.

whats interesting is the fact that the big 10

had an opportunity first to do a deal but felt a private cable network was better..ehh, i just think it would be a different story out of ohio if it was reversed.

What i cant figure out is why markets in ohio, oklahoma, texas, and michigan have signed on to show the game of the week. that game is like 3rd in line..I know i wouldnt watch it if i was an ohio state fan.

The money is quite comparable in the BTN deal, and back then the SEC plan was for their own private channel.

Are you saying why did those markets agree to show ESPN? Or are they allowed to choose what ESPN game they show?

well, each sec school gets 17 million a yr...if that is comparable then so be it...on the other issue lets forget espn for a second..that is national.

what i meant was that under the sec espn agreement there will be a game shown every week at 12:20 est that will be on regional television..that 12:20 game used to be the raycom/lincoln financial regional game in the sec states only, but now its going national to any affiliate who will be willing to pick it up..78 markets have agreed to pick that game up. columbus was one of those areas..

If we get there, freaky key injuries - and whoever wins the west - could well sit us down in Atlanta. We have had a run of the SECCG not f-in up the Title shot for the SEC BCS contender. '06, '07, '08 That is a statistical anomaly. It is high time for the upset. The "boost" that the SECCG has given us is nice in a close poll fight - but soon enough somebody will see their shot at the BCS title blown up in Atlanta.
