I read these two books while on vacation the last couple weeks. Not surprising Bo's book was very good. He was a "class act" and ran a clean program; and he only had great things to say about Ohio State, Woody, and the OSU/Michigan rivalry.

Phenomenal. Very nuanced and three-dimensional views of issues including race relations in late-20th-century Deep South USA; the criminal justice system; the interrelationships of young people from jocks to loners; and gun culture in rural America. Plus a great mystery besides. Strongly recommended.

This is an excellent history of the tactical evolution of the NFL from the1960s onward. It is an Xs and Os book that doesn't bore you 8 million diagrams, w/ quality commentary from Ron Jaworski, based on actual film study.

Ordered this last week on MaxBucks recommendation in this thread.

Thank you. This was a great read, I polished it off in 3 days.

Max--have you read any of his other books? Any good?
