What book are you currently reading, or recommend?

I just preordered this book:

He used to have a journal on ESPN2, I thought he was hilarious.

I also ordered some book about real estate investing so that I would get Amazons free shipping.

Just finished my last term paper and picked up a copy of G.K. Chesterton's The Everlasting Man from the university's library.

It will be nice to read something simply for pure enjoyment once again.

Music for Torching - A. M. Homes

Clarity turned me on to Homes. Some of her stuff I am afraid to turn the page.

It reads like a book written brilliantly by someone who can perfectly mimick Pynchon but yet, somehow, is missing the point. I am not sure if that makes sense. I guess I could also say that it reads like Pynchon is showing off his skills and classic writing style, but forgot to have a passion for it.

Thanks for the heads up. I am a bit mixed about Pynchon and that is a biggin'. Think I will pass.

Been working my way through Richard Ford's Trilogy - Independence Day at the moment. He sure can get inside the head of a middle aged man.

Donnie Brasco: Unfinished Buisness

Kind of an update of the original "Donnie Brasco" book. Pistone reveals a lot of previously classified information from the Donnie Brasco operation and discusses all the trials. Good stuff.
