What are you currently watching on TV?

Finishing Making A Murderer now. Regardless of what you believe about Steven Avery, what the justice system did to Brandon Dassey just to put Steven Avery away is one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen in my life.

They bullied and coerced a dumb kid into confessing to something he couldn't even dream of doing just to build a dying case against a guy that was trying to claim corruption in the justice system. They put that kid in prison for life.

I personally can't understand how anyone can believe Avery was guilty of what they said he was without ANY evidence that didn't have a huge cloud of suspicious activity surrounding it.

The Netflix doc does a good job of laying out what the courts and the jury were given, but I would suggest that more research be done into this case if you have any reason to be suspicious of how powerful a small town PD can be and how remorseless they can be when it comes to saving their own asses.

It's fucking sick what the Manitowac county justice system did to these families. Absolutely disgusting.

The worst thing about all of it is that they seem to have made the same mistake they made 20 years prior in not pursuing an investigation into the crime, but an investigation into the desired conviction.

Via Netflix, the documentary Dinosaur 13.

If you enjoy doing this :smash::smash::smash::smash::smash::smash::smash::smash::smash::smash: then I heartily recommend it.

Absolutely infuriating, maddening chronicle of the utter s h i t storm that descended onto the people who discovered, and devotedly sought to preserve and exhibit, what was then the largest and most complete T-Rex fossil ever found. Greed, abuse of power, ego, the ultimate Indian-giver, the FBI and National Guard, Sotheby's, MacDonalds and Disney...sound like a recipe for a just and happy ending? Don't kid yourself.

Still glad it ended up in the Fields Museum tho. It's going to be seen by way more people than had it remained in that podunk backwater.

I'd have preferred to see the people in that podunk backwater being the ones who were paid the $7 mil, though--the ones who recognized it, dug it out, cared for and shared it, rather than that lying cheat who walked away with no losses and all the money.

I knew they were in trouble at the moment they said he made the deal with a handshake--immediately flashed on the Beau Bridges character telling Maguire they didn't need a written contract because "my word...it's stronger than oak." Uh huh. Taking someone's word that has just evaporated into thin air, vs. a signature on paper: Yeah, that'll always turn out well.

Watched Luther, Season 1, Episode 1 this weekend. If Idris Elba doesn't follow Daniel Craig as James Bond, it will be a shame.

Luther.Is.Awesome.

Elba is one of the best actors out there right now, his Netflix film (something like No Beast Nation or along those lines) was getting Oscar buzz but he didn't get a nod.

I just started last week watching Blacklist and I'm about 16 episodes in....very addictive. James Spader is a boss.

Well, if you want a funny something to watch in Southwest Ohio...

Crazy Man on Scooter

Huh? An article that ends with New Carlisle getting huffy about Enon thinking it's better than them?

As a New Carlisle resident, I can’t say this behavior is shocking, considering it comes from a business in Enon. Enon has long fancied itself superior to New Carlisle, and attitudes like that of this store owner are a perfect example.

Looks like a perfect candidate for some kind of reality series.

I have to check that out just for crazy sworded lassie. Does it have a princess Bride style ?

Yeah, I think it has a kind of Princess Bride style, plus the musical talent of Alan Menken. It's a very self-aware show (they poked fun at the awards shows in the opening number) that doesn't take anything seriously. It also reminds me of Men In Tights a bit.
