West Virginia/JUCO/C.W. Post/Kean RB Jason Gwaltney (official thread)

Which is why we need Jason running out of the "I" on the field..... Come on methomps, get with the protocol here. It doesnt matter how good Jason is if he is only going to get 10 carries a game...

Actually, methomps, with weapons like Santonio Holmes, Teddy Ginn and Maurice Wells as his teammates, Jason will probably become a TD machine at tOSU. With the speed and moves those guys bring, the Buckeyes shouldn't have much trouble getting down the field and into the redzone, where Jason can become the Jerome Bettis of college football.

The OSU offense will be just fine this year, thomper. Running behind the O-line JT will put on the field, Jason could have a 15 - 20 TD season ...easy.

A wins a win. Either way, JG would bring back the spark to tOSU offense. If JG came here, expect the golden days of tOSU offense to come back!!

That is certainly good enough. I think some people want to go back to the days of scoring 50+.
i think some people need to wake up then. Jason Gwaltney is a very good running back. but with or without him Ohio State's offense is going to be special next year. I would love for Jason to choose OSU but some people are treating him like Woody reincarnated.

Well, he is a stud RB, a great kid, and a top 20 player nationally. He plays a position of need right now with us having only 3 scholarship backs next year. We don't have the prototypical RB for Tressel's offense right now (Haw could be, but haven't seen anything yet). Although we have not seen Gwaltney at the college level yet either, we saw him at the AA game and played above my expectations (running style, a punishing stiffarm, pass blocking and special teams. Gwaltney is the top recruit on the board for us right now (followed closely by Wilson, Ashley, Robiskie and Washington)... and should be our top priority. So, sorry for wanting him here, but we have very good reason too.

Yes, our offense will be special next year, I totally agree. But, with Wells, Pittman, Haw AND Gwaltney in the backfield, we will have even more options to attack with.

Yeah, Petey was there today and Tressel meets him tomorrow (or at least some Buckeye staff will be there). True though, I would like to know how it went. It is surprising they haven't had anything written about it.

BSB just posted an interview with Jason's coach, Terry Manning. Not much new here, except that Coach Manning claims that he and Jason's father have been Jason's primary mentors throughout the recruiting process. Coach Manning is fairly certain that Jason is close to a decision, but he would not reveal anything more on the topic.

Here is a nice tidbit from the article:

"Every time he's gone somewhere he wants to go there, and then as a week wears away, he can sit down and levelheadedly compare things,"
Basically, that supports Wstripes' claim that he has at least silently verballed on each visit. He is looking at contributing next year which supports NevadaBuck's claims. Also, he will be on campus by July 1st which does support what Sanchez said....but not necessarily for USC.

Decision may not come until NLOID...buckle up until then.
