West Virginia 31, Maryland 14 (final)

Agreed completely. they would be crushed by a complete team like SC.
Can't take Fowler and the word speed anymore.
Fowler's homerism (towards WVU) reached Holtz level at kickoff.

For anyone watching the game, how fast is devine... I mean runs of 31 and 76, those are the kind of YPC stats I put up playing OSU vs. Prarie View on NCAA 2007
Devine is as fast as the other two. Good thing too, because they can't blow you off the ball. White's passing ability is very limited (as seen by repeated 3rd and long runs), and neither line can do anything against Maryland.

It sure is nice that the media/pollsters do not question WVU's weak schedule, which features very little defense.

Really? It's Craig James I can't stand. He should finish every statement with "peace be upon the SEC." Can we please get more SEC references in a ACC - Big East game ?

I'm not sure why most of you guys are bashing Fowler.

He has always been one of the most sensible people on espn regarding college football.

He just said that Washington hasn't seen a D like Ohio State's yet, and basically that Washington won't be able to beat Ohio State. The other two were kissing Locker's butt (per espn requirement) and Fowler disagreed put in a good word for the Buckeyes.

devine is good, but against a good defense both those runs would have been for less than ten yards. you can't arm tackle someone like that. i've been saying this all season. big east puts up crazy numbers because their opponents suck at defense.

Because every time the others talked about making White beat you with his arm (which he never did tonight, and RichRod rarely tried on 3rd and long)... Chris would gush about how hard it is to stop their running game. There were a number of times where this occurred after a nice 3rd down stop by MD.

At the gameday table. I've never thought he was that great in the booth.

True. My issue was the hype machine (likely also by espn requirement) he was spearheading for WVU even when MD was slowing them down fairly well (in the 1st half).

That is exactly what I heard too. What did I miss, jwins?

Fowler was a homer tonight, imo. See above for explanation. I don't typically have a beef with him. I think the WVU hype could have been dialed back a little.

Once the 2nd half rout began, it was more understandable.

I don't know if anyone else noticed it... but it bothered me that Maryland didn't go for 2 after they scored the second td. They had about 6 minutes left and the extra point kept it at a 3 possesion game. It seemed as if they had a defeated attitude, they kicked the onside.... and still lost, but, I would pull out every last stop untill the final whistle.
