West Bracket Discussion

Is Gonzaga any good without Heytvelt?

They are still a pretty good team...

They have the emergence of a young kid, can't remember the name, but he is about 6'9, but skinny...

They also have 2 other big bodies down low...

Then throw in the experience of Pargo and Raivo on the perimeter and Bolden with his skill, but only a frosh and you have a pretty good team...

They were winning a lot of their games with Heytvelt when he was playing like shit...

Should be a good game between Indiana and Gonzaga, and I wouldnt be suprised to see the Zags win it. They can score the basketball and if Indiana doesnt score with them they may have a hard time beating the Zags...

They still have a team that can perform without him. Pargo and Raivio are both very good players and can carry the load. I think crazybuck was talking about Micah Downs. He is a lanky guard who averages over 8 points a game, but has been coming on as of lately. I would not say they are a good team with or without Heytvelt, but they can continue to play at the level they have played at all season without him.

Who do you guys like in the Kentucky/Nova Game...

Both teams underacheived a little bit...

Sumpter is a matchup nightmare type, but so is Morris for Kentucky...

I am guessing that Nardi will be ready to go since he played a little in their last game in the big East tourney...

The times I have watched Kentucky this year it just seems they don't have a goto guy that can get a bucket when they need one...

With all that said I think like Kentucky, but no real reason behind it...

The opening line was a pick, so it looks like these teams are about as balanced as possible...

I agree with Kansas, S. Ill. VC, Pitt, and UCLA

I like UK in the 8/9 matchup. I think Morris is going to be tough to handle, and I fell they are going to be playing for Tubby in this tourney.

I think Ill. can play with Va Tech. Illinois presents great versatility on the inside with Carter who can step outside and play inside. Va Tech has been a really inconsistent team...

I like Indiana against Zaga b/c I think that Calloway and Bassett will match up well with raivio and Pargo. I think White can dominate down low and Indiana has a great record, something liek 17-1 when scoring more than 70 pts and this could be a little bit of an up and down game and I look for IU to get some easy buckets and reach that 70 mark.

I am leaning towards Nova They just impress me more than Ken. And Tubby hasn't looked happy all year

Nardi won't be fully healthy...

So that gives Nova really only 2 scorers with Sumptner and Reynolds...

Kentucky has some solid players with Crawford, Meeks, Jasper on the permieter to take care of Reynolds...

They also have the x factor in Morris who Nova really doesnt have anyone to matchup with...
