Welcome: Irish Fans (Merged)

first off let me just congratulate the buckeyes on another great season. I have lived in Ohio my whole life but because of a irish grandmother my loyalty lies in Southbend even while in my 2 semesters at Ohio State. I feel this will be a good game and it will in no way be a blow out. Having said that and having many Ohio State friends I just feel there is usually a bit of fogginess in the minds of Ohio State fans. Case in point why does every year at the beginning anyway have to be a National Championship year for the buckeyes, don't you guys ever rebuild?
having said that I would like to talk about my Irish. Nobody has stopped Brady yet this year. Even in the games he lost he threw for 300 plus yards. Vince Young is a good Quarterback but Brady is much better. The buckeyes are going to have a hard time with him. How tall are your d.b.s, nd wide receivers are 6.5 and have a knack for the jump ball. I don't think the buckeyes have faced a offense this good this year. However your linbacking corp is top notch and is always fun to watch (during halftime on nbc i am known to flip channels). Good luck to the buckeyes and keep your eyes on 10, 83, 21, and number 3.

Brady for Heisman in 06.

Its all about expectations.

OSU doesnt recruit small corners. Yobouty is 6'1" and Everett and Jenkins both I believe are 6'0". I would rather face Brady than Vince again, because of his ability to run which takes a player out of coverage to spy. Relying on the jump ball isnt that great of an offensive strategy. Statistically ND will be the fifth best offense we have faced all year, behind Texas, Northwestern, Michigan St., and Minnesota.

Hope springs eternal each Spetember. I don't see a thing wrong with expecting to win every game.

Ummm...Brady Quinn is a better passer, but Vince Young brings an element to the game which Brady Quinn doesn't have.

Michigan shut Quinn down. 19-30, 140 yards, 3 sacks. You scored 17 points against their defense. We scored 25.

You averaged 38 points per game, Texas averaged 51. You averaged 490 yards per game, Texas averaged 510. The stats do not support your assertion.

Your offense is very good, and I am terrified by your ability to throw and catch the jump ball. I think that there are going to be terrible matchup problems for our DB's.

EDIT: Sorry. That came across as rather snide. Not how I intended it. Welcome to BP!!!

i just feel brady's numbers are far and a way better than young's other than rushing (but we see how far that gets Vick style quarterbacks)and if you watched the loss to michigan state you saw brady drive his team to what should have been a victory. ( I wont make excuses), and lets not forget the push in the back by reggie(definitly heisman) bush to win the game. Notre Dame has been in dog fights this year and they know how to come back. When was the last time Charlie lost in January.

What does Vince Young's potential as an NFL quarterback have to do with this game? I'm not sure I see the relevance.

When was the last time Charlie lost in January?

When was the last time Charlie Weis was a coach of a college football team in January? When was the last time Jim Tressel lost in January? Again, I just don't see the relevance.

John Cooper was outstanding in the regular season, but for whatever reason, could not win a bowl game to save his life. I'm not saying that Charlie Weis is like John Cooper, just that regular season record is not always indicative of bowl performance.

i know it is a different game altogether but maybe you just forgot about the Patriots.

Well, it wasn't January of 2003 since the Patriots missed the playoffs that year. I'm not trying to imply that Charlie Weis isn't a heckuva a football coach. I'm just not seeing how success as an offensive coordinator in the playoffs in the NFL automatically translates into success as a head coach in a bowl in college football.

agreed but he has to prove himself in the bowl game. He is not playing with professionals, and this defense is far better than anything he has seen. I have no doubts that he will have a great gameplan, how he adjusts after we adjust our defense is what will make or break the game.

your right it doesn't mean automatic success but his numbers do look good.

Brady Quinn hasnt seen anything close to what the OSU D brings to the table. While I expect the Irish to score somewhat, they will definantly not run the ball on OSU. Ive seen almost every game this year, and Darius Walker does not impress me at all. Quinn will be forced to throw all day, and our defense will expect it and be ready for it.
