The more things change...
I feel like a complete n00b around here, again. I've logged on almost daily, read a few things and have almost posted several things. I just keep getting those n00b post jitters and pressing "cancel". I would've been much less worried about posting things of substance, if I had remembered what a group of post-whoring elitists you all are.
I would have been back sooner, but Findlay just restored power to the only ISP in the county, following those two massive floods. To compensate for the time missed, I will need someone to briefly summarize the changes between March of '06 and now. I'm a pretty perceptive guy, and I've noticed the following:
- bkb is still posting under the alias of...well...everybody. "I'm not bkb," you may think. You'd be wrong.
- I can neither confirm nor deny that a PCP still exists, because I'm not sure one ever existed to begin with.
- Tibor is gone? I'd love to hear a play-by-play of that, some day.
- The mods, admins, and contributors are still working harder (for free) on this site, than most people do in their day jobs.
- The site is free. Most would charge at least $79.99 a year for this content. Okay, maybe $49.99 during a sale.
- Clarity is a visionary and the freaking man.
- The Browns still suck. (Yes, I'm a fan)
A few things have changed with me too. I left BP as an idealist bachelor, and return as a pragmatic, married, father (soon to be of two). My family has battled, and continues to battle personal/health issues. While that doesn't take anything away from my love of the Buckeyes (especially football), it DOES put things into perspective and simultaneously offers an outlet.
I walked out of here, just prior to one of the most illustrious seasons in Ohio State history, which quickly became one of the most disappointing. I'm returning in time to savor a historic run of championships and dominance, the likes of which the Big Cyan Tweleventeen has never seen, and most Buckeye fans won't appreciate until it's over.
Lastly, I accept full responsibility for the debacle in the desert. Two weeks before the game, I wore Ohio State gear every day on a week-long honeymoon trip to Florida. I held my head high and gave smarmy looks to every SEC-loving redneck that I saw. According to LeBrominique, I shouldn't have taken my fabric and cocky smile to Florida...because karma sucks.
It's good to be back.
