Brian Kelly has not won a season opener since he arrived at LSU in 2022. The Tigers lost two neutral-site games to Florida State and now face another challenging matchup against USC in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Both teams made extensive moves in an effort to improve their defenses this offseason. Whichever can piece those new pieces together the fastest should come out on top. An interesting quarterback battle is also on the table in this one as Garrett Nussmeier and Miller Moss take over for departing Heisman Trophy winners. An early win to open the season would be massive for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans with a matchup at reigning national champion Michigan coming up in two weeks.
