scUM is a 20 point favorite over the turtles. Both teams are 3-0; however, neither has played a "heavyweight". I do think Buffalo, Charlotte, and SMU is tougher nonconference schedule than Colorado State, Hawaii, and UConn. I might just pick Maryland in the upset contest.

Testudo, the beloved statue of the University of Maryland mascot, has been bringing students luck on exams since 1933 when he was installed on the campus. But what began as students rubbing his nose or leaving small tokens has escalated into leaving deep fryers, stolen streetlights and even cars.

The statue, a gift from the class of 1933, has moved around the campus several times before eventually ending up outside McKeldin Library in 1965.

Maryland turtle trivia: What kind of turtle is Testudo? Is it a male or female?

Well, allegedly the statue was modeled after a large diamondback terrapin. The shell shape and tail are typical of the females, etc.
