Weekly Trivia 2011 - won by gracelhink

Bob Shaw, who died last Saturday, is correct. Bob was an All-American end on Paul Brown's 1942 NC team. He was awarded a Bronze Star while an infantryman during WWII, and then returned to play in the NFL. After suffering a broken neck playing football, he was able to return to the LA Rams and catch 5 TDs in a game in 1950. That record still stands, having been tied by Kellen Winslow, Sr. and Jerry Rice. Shaw finished the 1950 season with a league-leading 12 TD catches and was named All-Pro. RIP Bob, and congrats on a life well-lived.

Next question coming right up.

Charles Csuri

Chuck Csuri is correct. Chuck played tackle and was named team MVP of the 1942 NC squad. He was a field artilleryman during the Battle of the Bulge. Chuck was the Buckeye at Nike's announcement last summer of the tribute uniforms worn in The Game for 2010.

Dan Herron and Gene Fekete

Correct. Boom Herron's 89-yard run (which would have been a 98-yard TD without a questionable holding call at the 9-yard line) tied Gene Fekete's record of the longest play from scrimmage, set against Pitt in 1942. Fekete finished 8th in the Heisman voting that year, the first Buckeye in the top ten.

The contest returns tonight at 7:30 ET.
