Weekly Trivia 2009 - Won by generaladm

In the current decade, tOSU played a game against the team that won the NC with the guy's brother coaching it to an NC, but the NC was in the previous decade to this one ('90s).

I now need the first and last name of the player that set the record that Gilreath broke.

Correct. In the National Championship year of 1942, tOSU's Tommy James averaged 11.9 ypc on 20 carries in 6 Big Ten conference games, setting a record that stood for 66 years. It was in last year's Big Ten media guide. We'll see if they update it for Gilreath this year.

His brother Don James coached at Kent State and led Washington to the 1991 MNC in the Coaches poll.

The contest will return next week.
