Week 8 Games Discussion

Looked at last year also, missing half the team, two weeks off then goes into East Lansing and smashes them 52-12. Sparty wasn't good but neither is Indiana. Finding similar patterns in Day's preparations. Problem is he missed a lot of pieces trying to plan last year so it's a bit more difficult to extrapolate.

I think I got what I was looking for.

2019 Northwestern is the only game after a bye Day has had. I dunno what the spread was, but a 52-3 drubbing probably means it was covered emphatically.

Interim/OC time he’s 1-1. 2017 Penn State game I think the Buckeyes were an underdog at home while they were a 14-pt favorite to Nebraska but only won 36-31.

Edit: Nevermind @DaddyBigBucks killed it

killed it?

if missing the fact that there were two bye weeks in 2019 means I killed it then yep, I straight murdered it dead

You basically quadrupled the data points, though imho the games where he’s head coach are really the only ones we should consider

still not enough data to draw actionable conclusions though

Coming from me that doesn’t mean much. I’m obsessed with numbers and the only conclusion I’ve ever drawn from them is to give Vegas a wide berth

Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Arkansas? Chickenshit Saturday came early this year for the Hogs.

The saddest part of that?

99% of the people in the country think that's exactly the same thing as Ohio State playing one of the half-dozen or so FBS teams that happen to be located in Ohio.

A team that gets 20 fewer scholarships than you is not the same as playing a G5 FBS team. At all.

Most people I've known don't seem to get that, even after it has been explained to them.

Yep. Its essentially a built in extra bye week later in the season. You see SEC teams playing (usually bad) FCS teams in the later part of the season. B1G is most often now done with the OOC by now. Arkansas for example gets a extra free week to prep for their real upcoming games. They really don't have to worry about Pine Bluff at all.
