Week 7 CFB Open Thread

Louisville goes up 7-6 then successfully executes an onside kick. Replay ref desperately looking for a reason to take it away from them.

They called an illegal block based on review? Onside kick overturned. Good job, Seamus.
And even though the replay took a long, long time, nobody in the group of Tirico, Dungy, or the ‘rules expert’ realized they were looking at blocking a guy before the ball went 10 yards and whether the block was reviewable. Why do they pay those rules experts if they don’t tell people what’s going on before the ref explains the overturned call?

Are you slipping? You haven’t yet pointed out The dumb 2-point attempts for both sides in the Auburn-USCe game.

Didn't watch much of it. I'll have to do some research.

EDIT: Classic case of one team doing a STPC (Auburn) and their opponent feeling compelled to try one of their own because the other team failed, and failing as well.

Auburn went for 2 and failed really early and failed when they were up 9-0. USCe went for two and failed after taking the lead at 20-19 late in the third. That allowed Auburn to be within 8 points late, when the last USCe TD could have put them up by 9 in the 4th quarter.

I have a difficult time believing there are only 3 teams better than ND. Let's see if they drop at all once the B1G begins play.

There are 15 schools in the ACC this season. So far they all pretty much all suck except for Clemson, ND, and maybe UNC, i.e. their strength of schedules have to be pretty bad. But you know if Clemson and ND both go 10-1 (one wins in the regular season and one wins the ACC Championship Game) they both go the CFPs.

Notre Dame could play Clemson 5 times and they'd lose all five unless Barbie broke a nail.
