Fine with a late hit or unnecessary roughness, but it definitely wasn't targeting. Targeting has become the automatic call for any kind of big hit because it's reviewable, even if it isn't what should have been called.

Agreed. That was 100% unnecessary roughness in this era, which is what I initially thought they called.

You could argue Oregon got screwed out of a fresh set of downs because the refs defaulted to targeting.

Tree wins! Damnit, Ducks, way to screw up a SOS point for tOSU.

Per computer I get it is bad for OSU, but from my rose/scarlet colored glasses if OSU handles biz it is just more of a decent team had a punchers chance against OSU and hit a lucky cross to the jaw early in the season while the bugs were getting worked out.
