Oh I know, that's why I said don't take your foot off the gas. Objectively clock killing is the smart move at that point, but I just wanted to see them hang 100 on them.
Impressed but not blown away with Texas. An excellent--maybe elite--offense and a mediocre defense that looked better solely because tcun's offense has a real shot at being historically bad. Plus, they lacked that killer instinct to finish the job when they had tcun on the ropes. Yes, I'm sure Sark dialed back the playbook once the game was out of hand, but a truly elite team would have just continued to execute what was called and piled on the points.
tcun are not a top 25 team. Aside from their inept offense, that defense (especially the DL) is very overrated. They'll run up some points on Arkansas State this weekend, but then come crashing down the next four weeks. USC and UW will be solid losses, and Illinois gets them at home and Bert just might get it done.
Which makes me ask the question, aren’t they coaching “heads up” tacking? I saw at three possible targeting on Ohio State d-backs, all made with head down helmet on helmet hits plus the one that was called on Burke.

The problem it is hard to tackle a RB who tries to spear you with a helmet with a heads up tackle you either go the legs from behind or the side which brings the head down or you take a helmet to the collarbone and catch him giving up yardage in the process. The old across the bow form of tackling I was taught as a kid doesn't work there.
